Assignments for March 5 - March 22

For the next two weeks we will be working on Chapter 14 TRANSFORMATIONS. It will be a nice break from our routine. You will create a tessellation that will count as half of your test grade and then have a mini-Test on a few sections from the chapter.
We will discuss in class the requirements for your tessellation so please don't work ahead until you know what is expected of you. Your homework is not numbered because it will be part of your test grade for this unit. Do not lose any thing or you will be heavily penalized at the end. This is designed as an opportunity for some of you to improve your grade. Please take advantage of it.

TESSELLATION REQUIREMENTS
1. Your tessellation must have at least 20 repeated patterns( unless we have
made special arrangements for some reason?)
2. You must name your tessellation and also label the " type" of tessellation
you made. For example, "Dolphins", a glide reflection with translation.
3. You will be handing in the original pattern taped on to the back of your
tessellation.
4. Think about putting your tessellation on something other than a sheet of
paper. For example, you could put in on a 3 - D shape ( you just need to
put the pattern for a polyhedron on the back, cut it out, then fold it.
I will show you some examples in class)

You will be grades on accuracy, neatness, and originality. The tessellation grade, along with the worksheets, book work, and Mini-Test on Sec 14.1 - 14.4 will all add up to one Test grade.
